Baseball Trips

If you ask my husband he is not real fond of traveling. If you ask me I LOVE it! We are both teachers. He would prefer to work a 2nd job all summer and to use the extra money to pour into our house/land/savings (responsible adult stuff). I would prefer to leave town the last day of school and return the night before school starts in the fall. I would love to travel All. Summer. Long! Neither of these really works for us. So we comprise.

baseballWhen our oldest son was born, we began talking about family vacations. I have the greatest memories from family vacations growing up. I wanted this for my kids as well. After discussions of when and where to travel, we came up with what we thought was a great way for us to travel the US. We decided that we would make it our goal to take our son to all 30 Major League Ballparks before he leaves home for college. I LOVE this plan!!!

So far we have been to 8. This summer we will conquer 4 more. We have the best time on these vacations. Not only is our son getting to see more of the US, but my husband and I are getting to go places and see and do things we have never done before either.

We have only flown once. We usually do a road trip. This is so fun! I love the undivided time with my family. This year we are going to Chicago, (Cubs and White Sox) Milwaukee, (Brewers) and Minneapolis (Twins). We are all very excited about this trip. It will take us about 2 weeks.

We usually go to a baseball game (duh:)). Go to the zoo. An amusement park. And we try to hit up all of the local tourist attractions. One of my rules on vacation is that I cannot eat anywhere I can eat at when I am at home. And even better than that is a non-chain restaurant.

If you are traveling this summer be sure to look up City Moms Blog Network to see what the locals have to say about what to see, do and eat in their city.

This is so cool!!! What 8 stadiums have you previously visited and which required flying?
    I’d love to hear more!

We have been to see the Rangers, Astros, Royals, Cardinals, Rockies, Braves, Rays, Marlins. We flew to Denver to see the Rockies. It was more about flying than a necessity 😉
This week we are seeing the Cubs, White Sox, Brewers and Twins.
