So, I have a secret…I’m an obsessive cookie eater. For years my husband and I would put our kids to bed, turn on our favorite show, and eat warm cookies straight out of the oven. It’s how we would unwind. We’ve since changed our routine and try to make healthier choices, but for YEARS our go-to was cookies.
People who know me know that I LOVE to bake. If I have to choose a hobby…it’s baking. It’s the first thing that comes to mind when someone I care about has had a rough day, or if I just want to do something nice for someone, I bake them something. Can baking be a love language? It’s mine.
That being said I want to share with you, dear readers, one of our favorite cookie recipes. This isn’t from scratch which makes it good for when you’re short on time. It IS one of the most heavenly things you’ll ever eat though. Give it a try!
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup oil (vegetable, canola, etc.)
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (adjust to your preference)
- Mix all ingredients together, spoon by teaspoons onto baking sheet, and cook at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes until they’re a light golden color
- I hear that you can substitute yellow cake mix for other varieties (red velvet?, chocolate?, yummmm)
