Establishing family traditions, especially around the holidays, is one of our favorite things about being a mom and having a sweet family. There is something so special about knowing that children will remember these moments for decades to come, and they may even pass traditions on to their families someday.  East Texas has ample opportunities for you to build family traditions.  As you are looking for holiday fun, look to East Texas Moms Blog for help, because our archives are full of posts relating to many topics that can be found with a quick search. 

There is always something going on in East Texas and we want to keep you in the know! Events in this guide are organized by date as well as category to help you find what you are interested in quickly. If you know of any fun family activities, please take a minute to add it to our Community Events Calendar here or let us know in the comments. We will update this guide with new additions as we receive them. December 1-2:  Frost Fest | Palestine, Texas The most wonderful time of the year is here with this wintry event leading the way into holidays filled with fun activities, special attractions, and incredible memories, only in #PalestineTx More details on our website. These cooler temps have us ready to party at Frost Fest 2017! We already have so many exciting things planned! Make sure you mark your calendar now, and we will see you in six weeks for games, rides, specialty food trucks, music, dances, a movie, story-time with Santa, tours, and more!

December 1-2:  Jefferson Flea Market | 8:00am to 5:00pm  Located at 213 W. Broadway Street, Jefferson, Texas 75657.  The Jefferson Flea Market is evolving into one of the better Flea Markets in East Texas. Since opening over a year ago, the Jefferson Flea Market is growing, with an increase in both the number of visitors and vendors. Open year round on Friday and Saturday the First and Third weekend of every month and occasionally  on Sunday when there is a holiday or special events on the following Monday.

December 1-3: First Monday Trade Days | “Sun-Up Til Sundown, Rain or Shine” – First Monday Trade Days in Canton, Texas is the oldest, largest, continually operating flea market in the United States.  This popular flea market is open one weekend a month, attracts upwards of 100,000 shoppers, and provides spaces for 6,000 vendors located on hundreds of acres. It has become known by shoppers from all across Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma as THE place to buy home decor, furnishings, antiques, clothing, crafts, jewelry, gifts, and collectibles. And it is a favorite of vendors, dealers, craftsmen and artists alike as the perfect venue to market their wares.

December 1: A Christmas Carol | 9:30 – 11 a.m. and 12:30 – 2 p.m. Nacogdoches, Texas SFASU W.M. Turner Auditorium The Children’s Performing Arts Series at Stephen F. Austin State University will usher in the holiday season with two performances of “A Christmas Carol,” presented by Virginia Repertory Theatre, on Friday, Dec. 1. Perhaps the best loved holiday story of all time, this adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic is particularly suited to children. Watch Mr. Scrooge have a change of heart from stone to gold as he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas. All the joy, sentiment and meaning are here, without being too scary for young audiences. The play targets children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Performances are at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the SFA campus. December 1:  Tree Lighting Ceremony | 4 – 6:30 p.m. Corsicana, Texas Join us Downtown for our Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Collin St & Beaton St. We will have pictures with Santa, live music, a chocolate walk, promotions at local shops, fireworks show, a meet and greet with Corsicana Bowl Football players, free cookies and hot chocolate. Please bring cash for food purchases. This is a Main Street and Parks & Recreation Department Event!

December 1:  Henderson Christmas Parade | 5:30 p.m.  Main Street’s Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Heritage Square followed by the Christmas Parade at 6:00 p.m.

December 1:  Christmas in the Park | 6 – 7 p.m. The Children’s Park of Tyler Christmas is a time to celebrate with the special people in our lives. Bring your family and enjoy an enchanted evening of celebrating the Christmas season on Friday, December 1st at 6 pm. Our 14th Annual Christmas in the Park will include singing Christmas carols and storytelling around a beautifully decorated tree, while drinking signature snowman soup and roasting marshmallows over an open flame for s’mores. Admission is free. Order your 2017 Personalized One-of-a-Kind Christmas Deadline for ordering ornaments is November 10th. December 2:  Jingle Bell Run | 8 a.m. Nacogdoches, Texas  It’s the most wonderful time of year and we are ready to “run” home for the holidays! Come join us for the 21st Annual Jingle Bell run in historic Downtown Nacogdoches, Texas. This chip-timed 5k will take you through all the beautiful sites Nacogdoches has to offer! What a better way to start off your holiday season than running through the Oldest Town in Texas! Registration comes with a one of a kind Jingle Bell Run t-shirt that is a perfect addition to your holiday wardrobe!

December 2:  Nine Flags Nacogdoches Christmas Festival and Parade | 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.  Nacogdoches, Texas  Come back home to Nacogdoches for Christmas and reminisce on the brick streets of Downtown Main Street – December 2, 2017. The festival begins at 9:00 AM, and will last until the parade ends. Come see our vendors, food trucks, and more! The parade begins at 6:30 PM and will be followed by fireworks.

December 2:  Gingerbread Bash | 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Longview World of Wonders To celebrate the Christmas season, Longview World of Wonders will be having a GINGERBREAD BASH on December 2nd from 10:00AM-6:00PM! 
The Gingerbread Man will be on the loose throughout the month of November and we’ll be having weekly giveaways on social media for those who can guess his location correctly. We’ll also be having a Gingerbread House Workshop, hot chocolate, and several other Gingerbread-related activities and crafts for kids and their familes. It’s going to be an ALL DAY EVENT and WE ARE SO EXCITED! December 2:  Holiday Vendor Event | 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Harvey Hall, Tyler, Texas Hosted by Foster The Love. Our holiday event will feature over 20 LuLaRoe retailers plus representatives from other home based companies such as LipSense, Matilda Jane, Rodan+Fields, Stella and Dot, and many more! We will also be doing a toy drive benefiting the children placed in foster care with Grace Manor Child Placing Agency. 

December 2:  Living History Christmas and Loblolly Model Trains | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Longview, Texas The Gregg County Historical Museum’s exhibits come to life during Living History Christmas. See a blacksmith crafting different items, talk to a cowboy about the Dalton Gang, learn about Caddo Indian history and get your face painted, make a commemorative ornament, see the fantastic Loblolly Train display and enjoy cookies! FREE on December 2nd. Great event for families!! Train and holiday house display run through December 23rd.

December 2:  Santa’s Bake Shop | 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Lillie Russell Memorial Library Lindale, Texas At Lillie Russell Memorial Library, we believe in the freedom to read, to learn, to discover. 
Pledge today to become a Sustaining Donor at $10 a month and watch your donation impact the lives of everyone in Lindale. Attend the 5th annual Santa’s Bake Shop cookie fundraiser for holiday treats made from scratch to delight everyone’s sweet tooth.

December 2:  Whitehouse Christmas Parade and Christmas in the Park | 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Whitehouse, Texas Whitehouse Christmas Parade and Christmas in the Park. Parade will kick off at 10a, to follow is Christmas in the Park until 3pm. There will be food, lots of vendors, kid activities, and MORE!!! JJO Radio (Fun 95.3 / 102.3) will be our parade EMCEE. Don’t forget about his toy drive! Santa (Able Santa) will be in the park following the Parade until around 12:30 (ish) for photos.

December 2:  Grinch’s Lair | Noon – 6 p.m. Historic Anderson County Jail The Grinch’s Lair is a fun, festive experience. You’ll be greeted by our Who’s Who of Whoville before being sent up into the lair. There you’ll get a tour with Mr. Grinch through his Texas Jail House Lair.You never know what ridiculousness he’ll be up to! Tickets : $10.

December 2:  Snow in Van | 4 – 7 p.m. Van, Texas Its going to snow in Van on December 2, 2017 from 4-7pm at the Movie House located at 255 W Main.

December 2:  Mineola Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting | 5:30 p.m.  Mineola, Texas  Join us in historical downtown Mineola on Saturday, December 2nd at 5:30pm for our Christmas Parade! We will have Carriage Rides available from 2:00pm-5:00pm in downtown. The judging of floats will be at 4:30pm before the parade starts. Following the parade will be a Christmas Tree lighting and visits with Santa down at the gazebo! Bring the whole family out for a night of fun and celebration.

December 2:  Christmas in Lindale | (6 p.m. Lighted Christmas Parade) 7 p.m. Lindale, Texas (Immediately following Rotary Christmas Parade) City of Lindale Community Christmas Celebration.  Everyone is invited to attend our Lindale Community Christmas Celebration inside Picker’s Pavilion after the Rotary Parade.  Lighting of the City’s Christmas Tree. Performances by the local dance studios. Christmas Music by local musicians. Face painting. Hot Cocoa served by the Veterans. Crafts provided by the Lillie Russell Memorial Library. Pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus downloaded to Facebook. Reindeer games (involving $$). Lots of Photo Opportunities. Caroling and Community Fellowship.

December 2:  Lighted Christmas Parade | 6 p.m. Marshall, Texas One of the biggest events of the year in Historic Downtown Marshall! Hosted by Wonderland of Lights.

December 2:  Athens Christmas Parade | 6:30 p.m. Athens, Texas  In partnership with the Athens Chamber, the City of Athens will host the 2017 Athens Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 2nd at 6:30pm. The theme for this year is “A Musical Christmas.” 

December 2-27: Texas State Railroad Polar Express | Palestine, Texas Texas State Railroad begins service to the North Pole aboard THE POLAR EXPRESS™ starting on Saturday, November 11, 2017. The magical story comes to life the minute the train departs the Palestine Depot for the journey to the North Pole. (The adventure is even more fun when families and friends show up in their pajamas!)
Enveloped by the motion picture soundtrack, passengers will relive the magic of the tale as they are whisked away on THE POLAR EXPRESS™. Once onboard, chefs serve hot chocolate and cookies as they recite the classic children’s book, The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg. (Be sure to purchase a book along with your tickets so your child can read his/her own book along with the chefs.)
At the North Pole, Santa and his elves greet passengers and then board the train. St. Nick gives each child the first gift of Christmas – a silver sleigh bell (only believers can hear ringing!). On the ride back to THE POLAR EXPRESS™ train depot, chefs lead passengers in singing joyous Christmas carols.
The journey begins November 11th and runs through December 27th on select dates. Book today because trains fill up fast!

December 4:  Christmas Kickoff and Parade | 3 – 9 p.m. Bullard, Texas Christmas Kickoff 2017 will be a great event for all ages! We will have a Mistletoe Market full of vendors with games and activities for the kids, we will have bouncehouses, a zipline, a snow hill, and a snow ball play area, there will be food vendors, a band, hot chocolate and cookies with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and of course the famous Christmas Parade. 

December 5: Gladewater Christmas Parade | 6 p.m. Gladewater, Texas  2017 Gladewater Chamber of Commerce Annual Christmas Parade. This years theme is “Put a Sparkle in your Christmas”. Our sponsor again this year is: Gladewater National Bank.

December 5:  Jingle Bell Run | 6:30 – 8 p.m. Marshall, Texas Dash, dance, and prance your way across the finish line at our Jingle Bell Run! The run will be a night time event, so deck yourself out in lights and we’ll see you at the starting line! Wonderland of Lights 5k and One Mile Fun Run routes begin at 100 N. Washington Ave. (Historic Telegraph Park/Stage) and will wind through downtown Marshall to a finish on the north side of the Historic 1901 Harrison County Courthouse. The Fun Run will kick off at 6:30 p.m., with the 5K starting at 7 p.m. 
Runners are encouraged to wear seasonal costumes (Santa, Elf, Reindeer, etc) and lots of lights during the run. Entry fee includes your commemoritave t-shirt as well as the jingle bells for your tennis shoes! Registsration forms can be found online, emailed to you, or downtown at the Convention and Visitors Bureau. Registration is available online at www.wonderlandoflights.com  All 5k race times will be monitored by a timing chip through Sportspectrum from Shreveport, LA.  Prizes will be awarded to the overall first three places for each gender, Best Seasonal Costume and Best Group Costume in 12 and under as well as 13 and older.

December 7:  Downtown Tyler Museums Holiday Open House | 4 – 8 p.m. Tyler, Texas Holiday decorations, miniature trains, reenactors in period costumes, carolers, special exhibits and more will be available free to the public on Dec. 7 as the Downtown Tyler museums and cultural facilities, including two new participating sites, hold their 10th Annual Holiday Open House from 4 to 8 p.m.

The Goodman-LeGrand Museum, Cotton Belt Depot, Innovation Pipeline, Discovery Science Place, Gallery Main Street, the Smith County Historical Society, Tyler Public Library and the McClendon House will open their doors to the public in celebration of the holiday season. 
Each facility will feature its own special exhibits and activities during the event. All participating facilities will be easy to spot as eight-foot-tall illuminated snowmen will be at each site.

The Goodman-LeGrand Museum at 624 N. Broadway will be decked out in period décor and graced by Christmas Belles. Carolers will perform, and refreshments will be served.

The Cotton Belt Depot at 210 E. Oakwood will have its traditional display of antique and miniature rail exhibits at the Train Museum. Refreshments will be provided.

Just across the street from the depot is the Innovation Pipeline at 217 E. Oakwood. This City of Tyler facility will join the open house for the first time with demonstrations of the equipment and training available to users, as well as refreshments.

Discovery Science Place at 308 N. Broadway will have all main galleries open for families to enjoy, plus music, a hands-on mini experiment that allows children to create home instant “snow,” and apple cider.

Gallery Main Street at 110 W. Erwin will offer refreshments for all, and visitors will have the opportunity to see the gallery’s current exhibit, “Heavy Metal.” 

The Open House will be the first opportunity for the public to purchase the latest edition of Tyler Main Street’s Christmas ornament series. This year’s gold-plated brass ornament features the Goodman-LeGrand home. A limited number of ornaments from 2015 and 2016 are available at $15 each. A set of three ornaments, one from each year, is available for $40.

The gallery will also feature a new Downtown Tyler Art and Maker Market. This mini gift market at the gallery offers gift items for purchase. Artists, artisans and makers from the area submitted their work for inclusion in the market, which features hand-made, original items suitable for gift-giving. The market will be open until January.
Smith County Historical Society at 125 S. College will serve refreshments and offer visitors the opportunity to see a new exhibit on World War I. A gift shop will be available as well.

The McClendon House at 806 W. Houston will provide a glimpse into Christmases past in Tyler. The event will include tours of the home with docents in each room to provide information, plus other activities.

The Tyler Public Library at 201 S. College will join this year’s open house with crafts for kids and teens in the library lobby from 4 to 7 p.m.

December 7: Jacksonville Christmas Parade | 6 p.m. Jacksonville, Texas  2017 Jacksonville Christmas Parade theme, “It’s A Wonderful Life” Celebrating Faith + Family Texas Strong.

December 7:  Longview Ambucs Christmas Parade | 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Longview, Texas  Kick off your holiday season with the Longview AMBUCS Christmas Parade! A Fun Holiday Tradition brought to you by One Hundred Acres of Heritage, Peters Chevrolet Chrysler Dodge Ram Fiat and Johnson & Pace.

December 7:  White Christmas | 7 – 9 p.m. Tyler, Texas Liberty Hall will show one of its most popular movies of the year, “White Christmas,” at 7 p.m. A ticket is required to see the movie; tickets may be purchased online at www.LibertyTyler.com.

December 8-9:  A Pineywoods Christmas | 4 – 9 p.m.  Tyler State Park  Folks, don’t miss the lights… a PINEYWOODS CHRISTMAS at Tyler State Park this Friday and Saturday, December 8th and 9th.  There will be a guided hike around the lake beginning at 4pm each afternoon led by park interpreter Boyd Sanders. RV campgrounds will be lit up and decorated for Christmas. Take a drive through them or park and walk through (which we recommend). The Silver Canoe Park Store will be decorated for the Christmas season. All items in the store will be discounted 20% and there will be cookies and hot chocolate for the kiddos. This is an easy and inexpensive family outing. No long lines and expensive entry fees. Half price entry: $3.00 per person 13 and up. 12 and under are free!!

December 8:  Jingle & Mingle | 5 – 8 p.m. Nacogdoches, Texas  Join us in Downtown Nacogdoches for our annual Jingle and Mingle. We have revamped the previous years events to make this the biggest downtown shopping event of the season by adding food trucks, live entertainment, and more. Participating stores will be open late so you can mark plenty of people off your Christmas list. Take a stroll downtown on December 8 and you will be sure to get into the Christmas spirit!

December 8:  Movie Night – Polar Express | 6 – 9 p.m. Lindale, Texas The Parks and Rec Board of the City of Lindale is hosting a Movie in the Park night at Darden Harvest Park – Friday, December 8, 2017 at dusk. Wear your pajamas and bring chairs and blankets. Refreshments available for purchase.

December 9:  Breakfast with the Grinch and Pictures with Santa and Mrs. Clause | 9 – 11 a.m. Fresh by Brookshires, Tyler, Texas Join us for a FREE picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus, Breakfast with the Grinch, and Cookie decorating! December 10:  Winter Festival | 3 – 5 p.m. The Grove Tyler, Texas Gather the whole family and head to the Grove, where Mr. & Mrs. Clause are stopping for a meet and greet! You’ll have the opportunity to take pictures with Santa and enjoy a live musical performance by the Magills! Children will be treated to story time with Mrs. Claus while enjoying some our delicious, cookies and milk! For the older crowd, we’ll have a special milk punch for adults. Boost your holiday spirit and join us Sunday, Dec. 10th from 3-5pm. Admission is $15 per person, free for kiddos 2 and under.

December 15-16:  Jefferson Flea Market | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Located at 213 W. Broadway Street, Jefferson, Texas 75657.  The Jefferson Flea Market is evolving into one of the better Flea Markets in East Texas. Since opening over a year ago, the Jefferson Flea Market is growing, with an increase in both the number of visitors and vendors. Open year round on Friday and Saturday the First and Third weekend of every month and occasionally  on Sunday when there is a holiday or special events on the following Monday.

December 15-17: Irving Berlin’s White Christmas | Three showings hosted by Texas Theater Palestines, Texas  Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students ages 4-18 and are available online at our website at Ticket Info. or at our local ticket vendors (Palestine Chamber of Commerce, Palestine Visitors Center, Blake Furniture, and Discount Pools) one month prior to the show.  Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

November 28:  Kilgore Christmas Parade | 6:30 p.m. Kilgore, Texas  The Kilgore Chamber of Commerce is proud to host the 87th Annual Christmas Parade. This year’s theme, Stories of Christmas, promises to create a magical evening for our community. 

November 30:  Rotary Clubs of Tyler Christmas Parade | 6 p.m. Tyler, Texas  The parade, organized by the Rotary Clubs of Tyler, will kickoff at 6 p.m. Thursday in downtown Tyler, followed by the 32nd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the T.B. Butler Fountain Plaza immediately after the parade.

December 1:  Henderson Christmas Parade | 5:30 p.m.  Main Street’s Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Heritage Square followed by the Christmas Parade at 6:00 p.m.

December 2:  Mineola Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting | 5:30 p.m.  Mineola, Texas  Join us in historical downtown Mineola on Saturday, December 2nd at 5:30pm for our Christmas Parade! We will have Carriage Rides available from 2:00pm-5:00pm in downtown. The judging of floats will be at 4:30pm before the parade starts. Following the parade will be a Christmas Tree lighting and visits with Santa down at the gazebo! Bring the whole family out for a night of fun and celebration.

December 2:  Lindale Rotary Lighted Christmas Parade | 6 p.m. Lindale, Texas Come one, come all to celebrate Christmas in our winter wonderland!  

December 2:  Lighted Christmas Parade | 6 p.m. Marshall, Texas One of the biggest events of the year in Historic Downtown Marshall! Hosted by Wonderland of Lights.

December 2:  Athens Christmas Parade | 6:30 p.m. Athens, Texas  In partnership with the Athens Chamber, the City of Athens will host the 2017 Athens Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 2nd at 6:30pm. The theme for this year is “A Musical Christmas.” 

December 2:  Nine Flags Nacogdoches Lighted Christmas Parade |6:30 p.m.  Nacogdoches, Texas  Come back home to Nacogdoches for Christmas and reminisce on the brick streets of Downtown Main Street – December 2, 2017. The festival begins at 9:00 AM, and will last until the parade ends. Come see our vendors, food trucks, and more! The parade begins at 6:30 PM and will be followed by fireworks.

December 2:  Whitehouse Christmas Parade and Christmas in the Park | 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Whitehouse, Texas Whitehouse Christmas Parade and Christmas in the Park. Parade will kick off at 10a, to follow is Christmas in the Park until 3pm. There will be food, lots of vendors, kid activities, and MORE!!! JJO Radio (Fun 95.3 / 102.3) will be our parade EMCEE. Don’t forget about his toy drive! Santa (Able Santa) will be in the park following the Parade until around 12:30 (ish) for photos.

December 4:  Christmas Kickoff and Parade | 3 – 9 p.m. Bullard, Texas Christmas Kickoff 2017 will be a great event for all ages! We will have a Mistletoe Market full of vendors with games and activities for the kids, we will have bouncehouses, a zipline, a snow hill, and a snow ball play area, there will be food vendors, a band, hot chocolate and cookies with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and of course the famous Christmas Parade. 

December 5: Gladewater Christmas Parade | 6 p.m. Gladewater, Texas  2017 Gladewater Chamber of Commerce Annual Christmas Parade. This years theme is “Put a Sparkle in your Christmas”. Our sponsor again this year is: Gladewater National Bank.

Babygarten Story Time – Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.
Children ages 0-2. Infant story time! We welcome parents to come with their babies and listen to songs, nursery rhymes, and stories geared toward their age. The children may not yet be of speaking or walking age, but physical interaction is extremely important in the early stages of child development. The infant story time also allows for parents to start off their child’s habits right by coming to the Library each week. Due to young attention spans, this story time will last about 15 minutes.

Tutoring Tuesdays – Tuesday from 3 – 5 p.m.
If your child, 5-13 years old, is struggling with their homework or understanding what they are doing in class, simply register them for Tutoring Tuesdays, and our qualified librarians will help!
Space is limited, so children must pre-register at the Children’s Desk prior to the tutoring session.
Due to time constraints, we will only be able to assist up to 10 students each Tuesday.
Please bring your child’s homework, along with any detailed instructions from their teacher(s).

Early Learning Journeys Story Time – Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
Suggested for children ages 3-5. Young children will enjoy singing along and interacting with Library staff while building their educational foundation! Story time opens with a time of singing beloved childhood songs and nursery rhymes, followed by a newly-published book being read aloud. Children will then enjoy activities and crafts geared towards helping them to imagine, create, and grow! This story time lasts about 30 minutes.

Discovery Kids Story Time – Wednesday at 4 p.m.
After a long day at school, Discovery Kids is a time for children of all ages at the Broughton Recreation Center to gather around and hear a newly-published, popular chapter book read aloud while enjoying a small after-school snack. Afterward, time is set aside for the children to share their various thoughts and ideas regarding the book. The time frame for the this story time is about 40 minutes.

LEGOs @ The Library – Saturday 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
A children’s book is read aloud, then children build their creations with a new theme each time while a movie is being played. Children of all ages are welcome to build! Larger Duplo bricks are provided for toddlers. At the end of each session, everyone’s creations are put in the Children’s Department’s display case until the next LEGOs @ the Library. Feel free to bring your friends and family by to show them what you built! This come-and-go event requires no registration, and you don’t even have to bring your own bricks. We have plenty to share, so just show up in the Children’s Department on Saturday morning!

After School Programs – Tuesday 4 – 4:30 p.m. Two programs for children.  One program is for those children in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade.  The other program is for children in Middle and High School (6th grade and up). Both programs have different activities weekly. Parents must remain on premises or make arrangements for their child’s supervision.  When the programs are over, an adult must be available to pick up the child; or, if there is a problem in the program, an adult must be available to help address the issue.

Toddler Story Time – Wednesday 10:15 – 10:45 a.m. Ages 18 months to 3 years.

Preschool Story Time – Wednesday 11:15 – 11:45 a.m.

Story Time – Wednesday 10 a.m. Ages: 12 years and younger. Introduce your child to the richness of literature through stories, songs, crafts and activities. Story time helps instill a lifelong love of reading, and it is informative and engaging for parents as well.
Reading Buddies – Wednesday 4 – 5 p.m. Children in grades 1-12. Volunteers and library staff are available to help your children practice their reading aloud skills. Buddies sit with the parent/caregiver and the child to help the child with pronunciation and comprehension. 

STEAM 4 Kids: Lights! Camera! Action! – Thursday 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. STEAM 4 Kids will be devoted to the art of filmmaking. We will investigate types of cameras, types of videos, enhancing videos through lighting and sound, and how to edit and share our videos. Each program will have a different lesson so children can participate as they are able. Registration: Free. Please register by the day before the event.
