Hurricane Harvey: We’ve Adopted a Classroom

If you are from Texas, you were more than likely glued to the television and social media as Hurricane Harvey ravaged South Texas and the Coast. Our hearts broke as we saw family after family being displaced and their norm threatened by this uncontrollable disaster. And most people asked the question, “How can I help?”.  We were no different here at East Texas Moms Blog.

As moms, our hearts immediately went out to all the parents out there. Several of our Contributors saw opportunities on social media where we could partner and Adopt a Classroom in the Houston area to help lessen the blow of returning to a classroom that was an almost complete loss in the storms. We were so excited to receive our email telling us that we had been matched with a specific teacher in Houston ISD and that we could begin working with her to help bridge the gap in any way we could. The needs are no different than the supplies we JUST BOUGHT our kids for back to school.  Imagine having what you just purchased be destroyed with very little warning or control.  It may seem small, but when your job is to teach and the basic supplies are gone…there’s even more of a challenge!

We are asking you to partner WITH US as we help and give back to our neighbors down South.  We have set up a SHIRT campaign that will allow us to take all the proceeds and apply them directly to helping this classroom.

Would you rather give directly to the cause?  We can help with that too!  You can email us at info{at}easttexasmomsblog{dot}com and we will give you the details of how you help directly!
