Favorite Things Friday: The Carly | East Texas Moms Blog

A few months ago, I heard about a line of clothing called Lularoe. At first, I thought, “This must be a knock off of Lululemon”.  Man, I couldn’t have been more wrong.

At the time I was actively trying to find some of it, I had no idea it was a direct sales business. Not only that, but most of the sales were via Facebook, and I was on hiatus then. I tried to find a retailer in my area, but there weren’t many options, and I was having a hard time trying to find anyone who sold it! I’m a little bit picky about materials, so I wanted to see the product in person. Sigh. No such luck.

I wasn’t able to ever connect to anyone or find a pop up anywhere, so eventually on Labor Day weekend, I bit the bullet and ordered something from someone on Facebook. My first purchase was the Carly dress.

A Dress though?

I know right? I had seen pictures of the Carly out and about via social media, and was drawn to it for some reason. High-low hem. Swing dress. Looks good on any size girl. SOLD.

Funny thing about that is….I don’t wear dresses! Like at all. I’m a jeans and workout clothes girl. But there was  something about THIS dress.

What’s so great about it?

I got it in the mail and was absolutely in love! It came in a great fabric (they come in all kinds), it fit well, it was comfortable, and it could be worn a gazillion different ways! Wear it alone, with jeans, side knot it, front knot it, back knot it, throw a belt on with it…the options are almost endless.

I bought a pink and a purple, and immediately thought, “I have to have this in black.” Little did I know at the time, that any piece of Lularoe in solid black is very hard to come by, and were rightly dubbed “unicorns”.  I kept searching and finally snatched one up!

I now have 3 Carlys in my closet and no doubt will add more! They retail for $55 dollars, and are a perfect staple to a wardrobe with their versatility.
