November is a busy month in East Texas.  With so many local events happening, we want to be your guide to planning the weekend.

If you don’t see your event listed here, please add it to our community calendar, send us a message or leave a comment.

November 16-17:  Mulan Jr., The Musical | Caldwell Auditorium, Tyler, Texas MULAN, JR. THE MUSICAL November 16, 2017, 10 am and 6 pm, November 17, 2017, 1 pm and 6 pm Caldwell Elementary Arts Academy presents its 12th annual musical production. 

November 16-18:  Holiday in the Pines | Nacogdoches, Texas  Holiday in the Pines is a collection of more than 60 specialty stores and shops from coast-to-coast gathered for holiday
shopping in a festive atmosphere. Located in the brand new Civic Center in Nacogdoches, Texas, the event space is transformed into a holiday wonderland. While you sample tasty food items, mingle with your friends, and shop for Christmas, YOU will be contributing to NJF’s mission to help make Nacogdoches a better community for everyone. The net profits of Holiday in the Pines go directly back into the Nacogdoches community through grants to non-profit organizations throughout the county.

November 17:  East Texas Fiber Festival | Lindale, Texas A yearly celebration of all things fiber related. This is also an educational opportunity for those interested in fiber arts. Come and visit with the experts about their craft. Free admission to the general public.

November 17:  Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Feast | 5:30 – 7 p.m. Bergfeld Park, Tyler, Texas It’s back and will be bigger and better than ever. Pretzels! Popcorn! Toast! Jelly beans! We’ll show the special on the big screen, give away door prizes and more, all to benefit the East Texas Food Bank!

November 17-18:  Jefferson Flea Market | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Located at 213 W. Broadway Street, Jefferson, Texas 75657.  The Jefferson Flea Market is evolving into one of the better Flea Markets in East Texas. Since opening over a year ago, the Jefferson Flea Market is growing, with an increase in both the number of visitors and vendors. Open year round on Friday and Saturday the First and Third weekend of every month and occasionally  on Sunday when there is a holiday or special events on the following Monday. 

November 18:  Jefferson Flea Market | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Located at 213 W. November 18: Gobble Wobble | 8 a.m. Longview, Texas  1 Mile Fun Run, 5k and 10k to support the efforts of Newgate Mission. Registration begins at 8:00am. RACE STARTS AT 9:00 AM. Gobble Wobble 2017 is swiftly approaching! This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Newgate Mission, and helps us to provide food, clothing, spiritual and social support throughout the year. We hope you will participate as a sponsor and/or in the race! Trophies given for businesses, schools and churches/nonprofits who have the biggest teams and for those groups who raise the most money for Newgate! There is no registration fee but donations are gladly accepted. November 18: Tyler Heart Walk | 9 a.m. Robert E. Lee High School, Tyler, Texas The 2017 TylerHeart Walk is designed to engage Tyler’s businesses, corporations, and community at large in a fun-flled day of activity that promotes heart health through physical activity, friendly competition, volunteerism and fundraising.  Local presenting sponsor: CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances  Event chair: Debora Hood & Co-Chair, Jamie Moore  Thanks to all our walkers, donors and volunteers who have accepted the challenge to help fight heart disease and stroke. We cannot achieve our mission without each one of you!

November 18:  Fall Outdoor Activities | 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Daingerfield State Park   Bring the family and enjoy this beautiful time of year

November 18:  Holiday Market Days | 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Palestine Farmer’s Market The Holiday Farmers Market & Craft Show offers goodies including locally grown fresh produce, baked goods, homemade preserves and handcrafted gifts created by local artisans.

November 18: Saturday Drawing Class |  10 a.m. – Noon Palestine Texas Curious, Palestine’s popular arts/science museum, is offering two more drawing classes for adults in conjunction with its Texas Heroes art exhibit that features works by well-known local artist Janet Staples. These classes will be taught by Pat Rainey, an art educator with over 35 years’ experience. Ms. Rainey is known for her ability to help beginners succeed and advanced students further refine their skills. Participants will learn basic proportions of the face, and how to use value (shading from light to dark) to add dimension to details. She will be joined on Saturday, November 11, by exhibit artist, Janet Staples, who will share with participants her techniques and how to develop skills from the ground up.
Prices for each class are $12 for non-members and $8 for members. The classes are available as a package of three at $32 for non-members and $21 for members. Reservations are required. Reservations can be made by emailing [email protected]
The Texas Heroes exhibit is on view at Curious October 26 – December 30, 2017. It is on loan from the Texas Oil and Gas Association in Austin, TX. Other exhibit programming includes a Gallery Talk on Wednesday, November 8, at 5:30 pm and a Family Day on Saturday, December 9, from 10 am – 3 pm.
The Curious Store is also open. It features numbered and unnumbered prints of the Texas Heroes artwork for sale individually or as a set. Many Store items are currently marked half-price to make room for new merchandise.

November 18:  The Market Holiday Event |  10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Harvey Convention Center, Tyler, Texas The Market is a one-day holiday shopping event showcasingl local artisans and their handmade, homemade, unique and vintage items. It will be open to the public Saturday, November 18, from 10am-3pm at Harvey Convention Center in Tyler, Texas. Tickets are $3 per person. (children under 10 are free) Shop Local. November 18:  Holiday Wreaths | 1 -3 p.m. Michaels Stores Ready to deck the halls? Join us for a MAKEbreak and make a one-of-a-kind wreath! Dazzle your guests with a gorgeous winter wreath. November 18:  ‘Wattle We Think of Necks’ | 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Caldwell Zoo, Tyler, Texas Come on up to the African Huts for Thanksgiving crafts. Believe us, this is a turkey of an event!

November 18: Family Game Night | 6 p.m. Gladewater, Texas The Screen Door Ice Cream & Coffee and Tea hosts family game night every third Saturday of the month.  Bring your own game or play one of ours.  Contact 903-452-1148  [email protected]
